Eu escolhi pintar três índios no meu urso, o Urso Branco, o Urso Em Pé e o Urso Chutador.

Born in Baumholder, a town located in western Germany, in 1966 she joined the School of Fine Arts in Mainz, having completed the degree in 1971. In 1979 she took up residence in Portugal in the beautiful town of Lagos, where she built her painting studio “Blue Studio” in Meia-Praia, where she has developed her artwork for the past 30 years.

For the Native Americans the bear was an animal of Great importance. He was not only one of the mightiest enemies, but also of great spiritual significance as a totem animal. Native Americans meet their totem animals in their spiritual journeys (a kind of meditation) and name themselves after them. I chose to paint three Indians on my bear which are White Bear, Standing Bear and Kicking Bear.
