Nesta época do ano a natureza é colorida, energética e inspiradora.

I was born and grew up in Poland. It was a happy childhood; I lived in a dream world, often filling my note books at school with surrealistic drawings. I’ve always painted and drawn, though fully developed my technique at the Academy of fine Arts in Krakow, Graphic in Katowice (Poland). After I made pen drawings for eight years which I still go back to, yet I wanted to fulfill my artistic ambitions so ten years ago I moved to Portugal where all the colours and pure light have become evident in my paintings. I live completely immersed in a natural environment, I paint and draw what is important to me.

My wish to be part of the project “Dance of the Bears” came together with a powerful and beautiful Algarvian spring. In this time of the year nature is colorful, energetic and inspiring. The bear formed part of the landscape around me and inspired me to the abstract landscape which covers him now. When I started the painting, I had the idea to invite children, my friends Kemi and Kayode. I think, kids are able to paint without thinking too much… and it’s the purest and the best abstraction. In exchange for the inspiration which I gained through their participation I could teach them basic, technical ways of painting. We spent a wonderful and fun time painting together. At the end I painted coat by coat everyday with new colors. I was inspired by blooming flowers and tones of green changing every moment. I hope my bear feels happier and warmer in the Algarve, like I do.
