Nasci em Londres, Inglaterra em 1970 de pais Anglo-Portugueses. Eu cresci entre Inglaterra e Portugal, finalizando os meus estudos de arte em Inglaterra. Eu continuei com a minha paixão de desenho nas minhas viagens pela América, América Central, Turquia, Europa e Médio Oriente. Sempre aprendendo e inspirada pela natureza. Eu tive aprendizado e trabalhei com madeira enquanto criava família em Israel, retornando a Portugal em 2005 onde comecei a produzir peças de madeira para venda e retornando recentemente a uma velha paixão na argila e cerâmica.

Ao ouvir falar sobre o conceito de decorar ursos enormes de fibra de vidro a ideia soou-me divertida, um livre e engraçada, isto naturalmente é o que todos nós precisamos na vida… Assim que eu vi o urso achei-o fortemente arredondado (que poderia carregar muito peso), e com o seu focinho apontando para a frente e para cima, POSITIVO. Naturalmente então a pergunta é; o que deve carregar? Podemos pensar no urso como em nós próprios. Mantendo a nossa força e crença que o futuro está naturalmente lá para nós, nossas crianças e as crianças de todos, o reino animal que está constantemente tentando sobreviver, e todo o que vive. Devemos olhar-nos a nós próprios como o poder e a solução para o estado actual do mundo, para manter ao redor a fé nos outros (um abraço para incentivar e eliminar a negatividade). O nosso equilíbrio (senhora em um pé) para alcançar e apoiar o que tem o potencial de crescer em torno de nós. As figuras no meu urso permanecem brancas para significar pureza, não carregando a dúvida e a negatividade, em alguns pontos a cor entra completamente nelas para significar a crença no futuro. Usei vidro nos olhos do peixe, transparência, permitindo-nos ver através deles para a frente e usei igualmente espelho para reflectir no que podemos fazer para nos melhorarmos a nós próprios, as uvas são aparte de tudo para mostrar força no crescimento e para realizar metamorfose na maneira que estamos habituados a ver as coisas se desenvolver. Sobretudo paciência, calma e alegria de um dos nossos parceiros mais fortes… o urso.

I was born in London, England in 1970 to Anglo-Portuguese parents. I grew up jointly in England and Portugal, finalizing my studies in art in England. I continued my passion for drawing throughout my travels in America, Central America, Turkey, Europe and the Middle East. Always learning and inspired by nature. I apprenticed and worked with wood whilst raising a family in Israel, only to return to Portugal in 2005 I commenced to produce pieces in wood for sale and recently to return to an old passion for clay and ceramics.

On hearing about the concept to decorate huge fibre glass bears the idea sounded fun, a little wild and just amusing,this of course being what we all need in life… As soon as I saw the bear I found him rounded very strong (that he could carry a lot of weight), and with his face pointing forwards and upwards,POSITIVE. Of course then the question is; what should he be carrying? In this time we can think of the bear as our own self. Maintain our strength and belief that the future is of course there for us, our children and the children of everyone around us, the animal kingdom which is constantly reaching to survive against a lot of odds, and all that is living. We must look to our own selves as the power and solution to the present world state, maintain faith in others around (an arm around each other to encourage and eliminate negativeness). Our balance (the lady on one leg) to reach out and support what has the potential to grow around us. The figures on my bear remain white to signify pureness, not to carry doubt and negativeness, at some points the colour breaks through on them to signify the power of belief in the future. I have used the glass in the fish’s eyes, transparency, allowing us to see through and forwards I also used mirror to reflect upon what we can do to improve ourselves, the stoneware grapes are apart from everything to show strength in growth and realise metamorphis in the way we are used to seeing things develop. Above all patience, calm and fun from one of our strongest partners...the bear.
