Nasceu em Portimão em 1952 onde viveu e concluiu o ensino secundário; foi aluna na Escola de Álvaro Torrão (acordada com o Curso de Desenho e Pintura Artística de José Maria Parramón – Espanha), concluiu mais tarde o Curso de Artes dos Tecidos na Escola de Artes Decorativas António Arroio em Lisboa. Foi aluna em 1984 do pintor Jean René Thellier, teve como mestre o artista Carlos Lança e, durante alguns anos, o apoio crítico do mestre e pintor Fernando Azevedo. Actualmente trabalha e tem ateliê em Portimão, onde reside. Dá aulas de Desenho Artístico, Pintura e Técnicas Criativas no secundário e na associação INICIARTE, projecto de sua autoria, com sede na Casa das Artes em Portimão. Tem trabalhos em todo o país e estrangeiro em museus, instituições várias e colecções particulares.

Considerando o Urso um animal por si só forte, com a sua imponente forma exterior, reforçada por cores vibrantes que mostram ainda mais a sua força e resistência, ilustrei-o com formas ondulantes que se cruzam e agitam em todo o seu corpo, onde se vêem mãos que acarinham e acenam, olhos que nos fixam com expressão serena fazendo-nos acreditar no amanhã, na natureza; vemos também que as figuras são femininas representando a reprodução, o futuro, a força da natureza no seu esplendor, pretendendo transmitir a continuidade, o futuro; na dinâmica das formas, na agitação transmitida pelas linhas ondulantes que se cruzam entre si, todo o trabalho sugere uma dinâmica que, ajudada pelas cores luminosas, nos transmite uma mutação constante, uma força viva que se agita; com o uso de cores como os laranjas e os azuis criou-se uma complementaridade plástica que deixa no observador um equilíbrio dinâmico e inconsciente, um reencontro com as cores da natureza e uma sensação de bem-estar e de esperança. Para além destes aspectos mais ou menos subjectivos o Urso tem uma mensagem plástica bivalente, também mais descritiva, onde o feminino, o sensual, a ternura e a protecção estão presentes; as cores lembram-nos o céu, o mar, a terra e o sol.

Born in Portimão in 1952 where she lived and completed high school; she was student at the School of Álvaro Torrão (awaken by the Course of Drawing and Painting Arts of Jose Maria Parramón – Spain), later completed the Course of Art in Fabric at the School Decorative Arts António Arroio in Lisbon. In 1984 she was a student to painter Jean René Thellier, she had has master the artist Carlos Lança and, for some years, the critical support of the teacher and painter Fernando Azevedo. She currently works and has a studio in Portimão, where she resides. She teaches Artistic Drawning, Painting and Creative Techniques in high school and INICIARTE association, a project of hers, based in the House of Arts in Portimão. She has works around the country and abroad in museums, various institutions and private collections.

Considering the Bear in itself a strong animal, with its imposing exterior form, enhanced by vibrant colours that show even more of its strength and resistance, illustrating it with undulating forms that intersect and mix on all his body, we see hands that nurture and wave, sets of eyes staring with serene expression making us believe in tomorrow, in nature; we see also that the pictures are female, representing reproduction, the future, a force of nature in its splendour, intending to convey the continuity, the future; the dynamics of the forms, in agitation transmitted by undulating lines that cross each other, all the work suggests a dynamic, helped by the bright colours, transmitting a forward mutation in a swinging living force; creating with the use of colours such as orange and blue a plastic complementary that leaves on the observer a dynamic equilibrium and unconscious, a reunion with the colours of nature and a sense of well-being and hope. In addition to these more or less subjective aspects the Bear has a bivalent plastic message, also more descriptive, where the feminine, the sensual, the tenderness and protection are present; the colours remind us of the sky, the sea, the earth and the sun.
