Elke Heiner was born in EastGermany, but grew up in Bonn where she studied design, worked as a poster artist and made experiments with various techniques of painting.She was always fascinated by wood, so when she came to Portugal in 1990 she started to refurbish old Portuguese furniture, mirrors and other delicate items for galleries, personal clients and friends. To design interiors in bright and colourful shapes was for a long period her main interest. As she travelled and lived in many countries around the globe, she found and studied numerous styles and finally expressed in all her works: My world is colourful. Nowadays her paintings are done in pastel. In 2007 she had a solo exhibition in the Old Slave Market in Lagos and other places in the Algarve.

Foi um grande desafio estudar o corpo do protótipo de um animal selvagem. Uma forma redonda com uma cabeça forte e orgulhosamente levantada! Encontrei uma contrapartida de espécies no azul profundo do mar - uma baleia. Como a água é vida - e todos os seres decorrem dos oceanos! A minha interpretação do mundo natural, que permite a criação do modelo e estudo do movimento de massas, a fim de determinar a passagem do tempo - evolução. Essencialmente escolhi um de 80 tipos diferentes de baleia como um conceito básico: um animal forte como um urso, um símbolo tanto de força como beleza original na expansão do ambiente natural (Observar baleias tornou-se um espectáculo mundial).

O Homem procura ilusões - por isso achei “o planeta azul” em torno ou mesmo dividindo a baleia, apoiada por um casal - Yin e Yang - partilham o foco em posição erecta, afastados um do outro, mas construindo O DUO em equilíbrio, protegendo cada um o seu segredo - ligeiramente abstracto. Como a união do Yin e Yang formam o universo, não é um símbolo estático em repouso, mas trabalha em eterna transformação e subtil harmonia de cores. A decoração e criação do urso arredondado encontraram a sua expressão na produção de novas proporções de forças: MÃOS abraçando, penduradas no pescoço, mantendo-o na terra, mas cuidando do sol nascente. No peito um olho assistindo na palma de uma mão protegendo o seu coração e olhando para um futuro positivo. Mãos diferentes - um mundo. Pintei plantas verdes amontoadas em 2 mãos esticando interminavelmente as suas raízes soltam, declarando: a mãe terra (Yin) dá o seu poder pelos seus recursos verdes. No outro lado uma mão colhe uma pérola de uma ostra cultivada - mas uma pérola não permite ser manipulada - ela cai ao mar, perdida para o fundo. Através do trabalho do artesão contando histórias da expressão humana com as mãos, abrindo um mundo para um ponto de vista como uma fonte de beleza, graça e habilidade artística, de uma forma muito silenciosa. Finalmente, as grandes costas douradas seguindo a forma encontram uma linha substancial que vai da cabeça ao pescoço por todo o corpo até às nádegas mais sexy numa vida do Grande Urso: As características da evolução.

It was a great challenge to study the body of the prototype of a wild animal. It's a round and strong form with a proudly raised head! I found a counterpart of species in the deep blue sea - a whale. As water is life - and all beings arise out of the oceans! My interpretation of the natural world which enables specimen to create and study the movement of bodies in order to determine the passage of time - of evolution. In essence I've chosen one of 80 different kinds of whales as a basic concept: A strong animal like a bear, both a symbol of original force and beauty in the expanse of wilderness (Whale watching became a worldwide spectacle).

Men demand illusions - so I found 'the blue planet' surrounding or even dividing the whale, supported by a couple - yin & yang - sharing the focus in straight position, turned away from each other, but building THE TWO in balance, each covering their secret - slightly abstract. As the union of Yin & Yang forms the universe, it is not a static resting symbol, but works in everlasting transformations and subtle colours of harmony. The decorating and creating of the round shaped bear found its expression in producing new proportion of forces: HANDS embracing, hanging around the neck, keeping him down to earth, but taking care of the rising sun. At the chest a watching eye in the palm of a hand is protecting his heart and looking into a positive future. Different hands - one world. I painted green plants bundled up in 2 hands and stretching their loose roots down endless, stating: mother earth (Yin) gives power by its green resources. On the other side one hand is harvesting a pearl from an oyster which grew by cultivation - but one pearl does not allow to be manipulated - it falls into the sea, lost for proceeds. By craftsman's work telling hand stories about mankind’s expression, opening a point of view to a world as source of beauty, grace and artistic skill, in a very silent way. Finally the golden big back followed the form and found a substantial line from head to neck over the whole body to the sexiest buttocks in a Great Bear's life: The features of evolution.
